Mr. and Mr. Cashin wanted a space where all the family could come and visit.
Their ideas were all around socialising, making it suitable for a busy household as they regularly look after their grandchildren. Their priority was that the design of the kitchen is usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without any need for adaptations. Storage was also a high priority to accommodate all of the couple’s cookware and appliances.
Pivotal to the plan was creating an open-plan living space, with the kitchen as the central focus, whilst retaining a bright and fresh, open feel.
The Remo Gloss Alabaster from Second Nature kitchens was the perfect choice, and as the kitchen and breakfast bar would be such a central and highly visible focus of the new design we finished the tops with Iron Bark Quartz from Silestone.
For Mrs. Cashin, cooking is a passion that she loves to share with others. To facilitate this, the kitchen’s working area is merged with areas that are used for socialising and living.
The intelligent functions of the Neff and Caple appliances more than fulfill our couple’s individual requirements and have been cleverly integrated within the Remo furniture.
Our couple was keen to ensure that all storage was easily accessible, so we used pull-down shelves in the wall units. These are impressive thanks to their sophisticated functionality and comfortable ergonomics.
Installing a downdraft extractor instead of a ceiling extractor means that the pendant lights above the breakfast island are now dazzling uninterrupted centre-pieces as well as providing practical task lighting. The new design also allows for a formal integrated dining table and chairs.
I’m sure you’ll agree that kitchen designer Rebecca has transformed this space into a chic multi-functional zone.
