Want to eat healthily, but can’t give up the chocolate? Try these wholesome packages of loveliness for when your sweet-tooth won’t stop nagging you, or when you need to boost your flagging energy mid-afternoon.
Ingredients:
Makes: 10 energy balls
- 80g oats
- 130g smooth almond or cashew butter
- 80ml maple syrup
- 45g chopped dark chocolate
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon chocolate-flavoured protein powder, or cocoa
Method:
Prep:10min › Extra time:30min chilling › Ready in:40min
- Combine oats, nut butter, maple syrup, chocolate, flax seeds, chia seeds and chocolate powder together in a bowl until evenly mixed.
- Cover bowl and place in the fridge for approximately 30 minutes.
- Scoop up a small portion of the chilled mixture; roll in the palm of your hand to form bite size balls.
- Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Store in the fridge for a healthy snack or when you need an energy boost. These will keep for up to 5 days in the fridge – if they can even last that long!
