Copper has always been a classic choice in the kitchen, but generally we’re used to seeing it in the form of pans, particularly in farmhouse kitchens. But in 2017, the interest in the beautiful metal has exploded, and now we can see it being used to complement the modern kitchen as well as the traditional.
Here are just some of the many ways you can use copper to enhance the most important room in your home, whether you simply want to take advantage of the warm rose-gold tones, or pack an interior-design punch with the industrial edge it adds to your environment.
Lighting – a jauntily, angled copper desk lamp or pendant lights over the kitchen table add mood and atmosphere. Or perhaps a couple of copper-tinged candlesticks to add a rosy-glow to your dining.
Kitchenware – the classic favourite, pans hanging over an island or against a wall, add a much-loved traditional dimension to any kitchen. In 2017, kitchenware additions are endless: cutlery, coasters, bread bins, cafeterias, wine coolers, salt and pepper pots, or even a copper-wire dish rack add a certain va-va-voom to your room.
Accessories – add pizazz to kitchen cabinets with copper door handles. Available in knobs, pull handles and cup handles, they’ll shimmer so much, you won’t be able to keep your hands off them. Or for an alternative flash of finesse, include a copper-hued tap at your sink area.
Electrical appliances – toasters, kettles, mixers, blenders, and even ranges are available now in copper-edged glory.
Decoration and furniture – picture frames, wall art, copper-legged tables and chairs, and copper-handled cabinets can all inject your room with that added burst of copper delight!
Get out there, be bold, use copper!
